The Bob Jones show up through December 24th, 2011 at the Francine Seders Gallery provides an education in the beauty of paint. There is a romanticism to his line and color, a poetry that we as a culture don’t often let out of the box. His mark making is true and there is much to learn here about the contemporary place of painting.

Love and Color

If you are suffering from the grey-sky blues than go see the Katy Stone show. If you love Seattle’s grey because of how it can make colors pop go see the Katy Stone show. Katy’s show at the Greg Kucera gallery of laser cut and painted aluminum, chenille pipecleaners, and 15 collages using acrylic, duralar and paper announce that process, paint and color rules. The collages are what held me this time. Collage can give insight into how an artist thinks and Katy shows a fluid hand and mind. These pieces are beautifully put together and bring warmth and color into December.
